Perfection performs
the ballet of backers
selling six pack abs,
size two shorts
steamed hair,
bleached teeth,
botoxed skin,
flesh sewn
behind ears,
tummy nipped,
added to the derriere
and lips.
—–
(Shouldn’t that raise an eyebrow?)
—–
Perfection photoshops,
censors, edits,
to script reality
for thoughtless feeding,
adulates mindless,
adores IQs comparable
to skinny figure sizes.
—–
Perfection truthfully
thrives like beauty
in the eye, ear, heart
of the beholder,
dances deliciously,
sings shamelessly,
to nature’s chorus
of: just as you are.

Now when I look at beauty, I wonder how much is real.
I feel that about photographs; how much is real and how much is photoshopped? A bit disconcerting and disappointing, to be honest.
