See my post here for voting on the novel subject.
You might be asking: how is this going to work, Sascha? (I don’t know. Osmosis? How does osmosis work again?😉 )
But seriously (or as much as I can be), if you’ve been following the string of vignettes/flash fiction/tres short stories that I’ve been writing for the daily prompt about Clare and her romantic misadventures (they are under the category Prince Charming and Clare), you might have noticed that Devil Doll Musings has been offering opinions and suggestions every once in a while, evidently in exchange for cookies (today was the first I learned about the baked goods association), and I’ve been taking those to “heart” as I write. This series has been a lot of fun for me and I hope that you as readers have gotten some amusement from it as well. And, it was while writing this series and seeing the comments that I thought it could be fun to do a semi-interactive novel for NaNoWriMo 2016.
In a couple of weeks, I will share the winning “subject” with you and then post a survey to help determine characters, locales, specifics, and then a brainstorming session so that the novel can take some form. All during this time, you can feel free to make any suggestions about what you hope to see (or hope NOT to see) in the novel. Experience has taught me that everything won’t be planned out. For NaNoWriMo, I usually write by the seat of my pants, which is just as uncomfortable as it sounds.
I’ll post the snippet each day. I haven’t decided whether it will take “real” novel form or if we’ll continue the short fiction style. If we do the latter then it’s possible that each of you could take turns controlling the action in that particular sequence, if you wanted. Again, if you have an opinion on this, just drop me a line.
I’m shooting for fun and imaginative and interactive. No pressures for anyone (except for me, haha). But by the end, hopefully we’ll have created something fun and readable.🙂
I’m thinking we might even design a cover for it…….utilizing all of my artistic talent….with stick figures. Unless someone who can draw saves us from me and my (centimeter of) artistic talent.
Thanks! More to come!
