On the Edge of Bryce

Poetry Prompts Day 9 – OctPoWriMo 2016

The prompt is: spiral; the poetic form is Cascade, another form to fool around with when time allows.

On the Edge of Bryce

A huge finger spiraled down

Rotated around the stone

Created this burnished landscape

The tornado ripped through town

Taking no ransom as if

A huge finger spiraled down

The roar like a freight train

Bricks and cattle flew while wind

Rotated around the stone

I thought of this on the edge of Bryce

Seeing the sculpted ridges that

Created this burnished landscape
