Mercy Street, #November Notes, Day 6

November Notes, Day 6, Song: Street Called Mercy by Hillsong United

Mercy Street

You crossed that street

studied signs,

made realizations

came to terms

part feels pity

another antipathy

another nothing at all.

Long thoughts formed

you don’t dwell on

heaven, hell, mercy defined

in them no right

supramarginal gyrus.

In mercy ego virus

and righteousness

clasped fingers, steepled,

doors closed, blinders compulsory.

So sing mercy sing divine

no thinking to undermine

no speculation stay blind

faith supplanted kind.

Mercy Street feet away

adrift petitionary repast.
