You an’ Me, #November Notes

#November Notes, Day 10, Song: Air by Rayvon Owen

You an’ Me

It’s a queen-sized bed

but the space between us

stretches a mile.

Once we finished sentences,

sought each other’s gazes,

now you never smile.

The air between us isn’t

laced with animosity

just not our style.

Each day we work long hours

find excuses to stay away

being together, denial.

There are days I miss us,

nostalgia, memories, time’s erased

the chance to reconcile.

Maybe it’s up to me

to walk away, maybe

just for a while.
