NaPoWriMo Day 8 Prompt: Today I’d like to challenge you to write a poem that relies on repetition. It can be repetition of a phrase, or just a word.
Sorry gods of the A to Z challenge. I am guilty of writing a poem instead of flash fiction today. Mea Culpa. I hope to return to flash fictioning again on Monday. Write On!
Heal
Can the caress of sea breezes
scented with salt
Heal your rancor?
Can the sun warm on winter cheeks
promising wellness
Heal your bitter?
Can the taste of ambrosia
amazing, succulent
Heal your guilt?
Can a song serenaded stridently
transporting you to time before
Heal your hate?
Soon, alone, charred inside,
does anything remain
to heal you?

Guilt-less, I think we can forgive this, especially when your poetry is so good!
Wow! Thank you. I never feel particularly confident with the poetry. Have a great rest of the weekend! 🙂
Really beautiful
Thank you so much! 🙂
You’ve done such a great job with “Heal”, (I’m not sure if I’ve asked this before) have you thought of submitting your work somewhere?
Thank you, Austin. I need to brush up on markets, but am curious if you know of some place that takes my kind of writing?
I appreciate your reading! 🙂
I mean I run a magazine and you might be able to send there, but it’s been very competitive. If you want to sumbmit to Beautiful Losers Magazine I’ll send you a link but you should find some places that put out the kind of writer that is similar to what you put out and go from there.
Thanks, anyway. I really need to do some research probably during that mystical period known as “free time.” 🙂
