If we were having coffee, I’d first apologize because it’s probably too late to being having coffee, at least it is where I am.
I’d tell you that mostly it was a regular little old week with work, a visit to the foot doc where I was told to slowly wean myself from my great big stomping boot (but be careful, he said—heh), Β and lots of reading, writing, and bird watching. With this boot on, I’ve been unable to walk anywhere where the ground is unlevel because of its propensity to throw me forward. Ah, the life of lurching! π So I have to let the wildlife come to me.
If we were having coffee, I’d try to explain that bird watching is not really boring and you never quite know what will pop up at your feeder. Case in point:
Yes, that’s a parakeet, or a budgie as some of you call it, at my feeder. He showed up on Thursday and I intermittently tried to catch him because a backyard in this area is really not hospitable to a parakeet, considering the hawks, owls and the fact that in a few months the temperatures are going to dip much farther than he can tolerate. Unfortunately I haven’t seen him since Thursday, so all of my good intentions were put on hold.
Other visitors:
See that creamy bird in the center? It’s not over-exposure. It’s a female sparrow who is cream colored; on the left, of course, is a lady hummer. Excuse the quality of the photos–they were take through a window.
I read some really good books, all of which I reviewed here. Other than that….quiet, quiet, quiet.
I hope you all have a great week ahead! I enjoyed visiting with you over coffee.

Your a constant delight, Sacha. Your interest in nature, your surroundings, your ability to write, your friendship, these mean worlds. I’m delighted I’ve had this awesome opportunity to meet you and share pieces of your world. π Thank you for being there π
Wow! That’s one of the kindest things anyone has ever said to me. Thank you, Phyllis. I hope you have a great day and week! π
Your so welcome, Sascha, and I meant every word! Your such a delight in so many ways and for so many reasons π
I do hope the parakeet is alright. I enjoyed the photos!
Thank you. I hope he is too. He hasn’t returned to my feeder, but I’ve alerted neighbors so hopefully someone will have a chance to catch him.
That parakeet is so pretty! I love the colors. π
