About CHASING CHRISTMAS EVE:

Meet cute…

Run for the hills—temporarily. That’s Colbie Albright’s plan when she flees New York for San Francisco. Wrangling her crazy family by day and writing a bestselling YA fantasy series by night has taken its toll. In short, Colbie’s so over it that she’s under it. She’s also under the waters of a historic San Francisco fountain within an hour of arrival. Fortunately, the guy who fishes Colbie out has her looking forward to Christmas among strangers. But she’s pretty sure Spencer Baldwin won’t be a stranger for long.

Make merry…

Spence’s commitment to hiding from the Ghosts of Relationships Past means he doesn’t have to worry about the powerful—okay, crazy hot—chemistry he’s got with Colbie. Just because she can laugh at anything, especially herself… just because she’s gorgeous and a great listener…just because she “gets” Spencer immediately doesn’t mean he won’t be able to let Colbie go. Does it?

…and hope for a miracle.

Now the clock’s ticking for Colbie and Spence: Two weeks to cut loose. Two weeks to fall hard. Two weeks to figure out how to make this Christmas last a lifetime

SASCHA DARLINGTON’S REVIEW

It occurred to me as I was reading Jill Shalvis’ Chasing Christmas Eve that I hadn’t bothered to read the blurb, which is typically the prerequisite before reading a novel unless the author is one of your favorites and you know that you’re going to read the book regardless. Let’s just say, Jill Shalvis didn’t let me down.

Chasing Christmas Eve was the perfect book for me to read right now. I’ve been feeling a little overwhelmed and sad and despite that I laughed out loud many times while reading this romantic comedy. Any novel that can offer escapism that makes you forget your funk even momentarily is a find indeed.

Colbie and Spence may be two of my favorite Shalvis characters ever. They are both good-hearted, quirky workaholics who try to fix things for other people. Colbie is a best-selling YA writer who has been taking care of her family since she was little after her father walked out. Spence is a geek who frequently becomes so immersed in his inventions that he forgets about everything else. Until Colbie comes along.

The Meet Cute involving a dog and a fountain was charming. I was immediately captivated.

The novel is equal parts funny and romantic and steamy as well as insightful. Chasing Christmas Eve is happiness.

While Chasing Christmas Eve is number four in the series, it can be read as a standalone.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

-EXCERPT-

Spence drew in a deep, shuddering breath that wasn’t much steadier than hers and pulled off his now crooked glasses. “Hang on a second.” He tossed them aside. “I need to check on something.”

“What?” she asked warily.

Once again he slowly drew her in, his eyes heated and focused on hers, infusing her with some of his calm. “I want to see if this is how it’s going to be.”

“How what’s going to be?” she whispered.

“This.”

His kiss started out just as slow and thoughtful as the first, all careful control. But when his tongue touched hers, control flew straight out the window.
