Bloodstone #amwriting

bloodstonew

Aquamarine bloodless blue

I’ve never been enamored with you

Others had emeralds, opals, or rubies

Deep with color, I had transparency

“blue of the sea” utter simplicity

Until tonight when I discovered

Heliotrope, not the flower

lavender blooming rather

Green Jasper threaded with red

“sun stone” richly hued

This is me, beckoning complexity.

Tomorrow’s healing energy

Discovery awaits, focused.

  1. I, too, wrote of Bloodstone and Aquamarine…wished I had a red Garnet or Ruby. But after reading more, I am satisfied with the blue-green for it is the sky and trees. I think Aries are complex, too.:-)

    1. Kathy, yes, I had already started the poem and had an idea when I looked at pics of aquamarine. Some when they’re in their natural state are so gorgeous. I’m Pisces, always swimming in two directions, as this message would indicate. lol

  2. I love this stone:
    ‘Green Jasper threaded with red
    “sun stone” richly hued
    This is me, beckoning complexity.
    Tomorrow’s healing energy
    Discovery awaits, focused’.

  3. Love this response to the prompt! Most especially these words
    “Green Jasper threaded with red
    “sun stone” richly hued”
You’ve responded to the complexity of these two gemstones and matched them with the complexity of who you are….beautifully done. I love my birthstone, the emerald….but in reality, there is not a real complexity to the stone…just green. And I do believe I’m more complex than that! Your post here reveals the complexity of who you are and the mystery too…the discovery yet to come.

      1. Not fond of the name, but thanks for the suggestion. BTW, I think aquamarines are beautiful. Subtle (like your writing sometimes) but not everything needs to be bold to be beautiful. It’s a very peaceful stone.

      2. I gave it a lot of thought last night, especially after viewing more pics and I have to admit that maybe my lack of affinity over the years can be altered. It always just seemed to pale in comparison to every other stone. lol But even in that there can be good qualities.
