Aquamarine bloodless blue
I’ve never been enamored with you
Others had emeralds, opals, or rubies
Deep with color, I had transparency
“blue of the sea” utter simplicity
Until tonight when I discovered
Heliotrope, not the flower
lavender blooming rather
Green Jasper threaded with red
“sun stone” richly hued
This is me, beckoning complexity.
Tomorrow’s healing energy
Discovery awaits, focused.

I, too, wrote of Bloodstone and Aquamarine…wished I had a red Garnet or Ruby. But after reading more, I am satisfied with the blue-green for it is the sky and trees. I think Aries are complex, too.:-)
Kathy, yes, I had already started the poem and had an idea when I looked at pics of aquamarine. Some when they’re in their natural state are so gorgeous. I’m Pisces, always swimming in two directions, as this message would indicate. lol
I love this stone:
‘Green Jasper threaded with red
“sun stone” richly hued
This is me, beckoning complexity.
Tomorrow’s healing energy
Discovery awaits, focused’.
Thank you so much, Kim! 🙂
Bloodstone and aquamarine, there is something so strong in that duality. Really good.
Yes, I agree with you. I didn’t know about bloodstone before so I think it might be being googled a lot in the next few days. 🙂
What a combination and a very good one too!!
Yes! Thanks, Vandana!
You made it sound quite mystical with…’tomorrow’s healing energy’. I like it.
Thanks, Vivian. I have to seek out more info, anything that heals… 🙂
Definitely worth searching 🙂
A beautiful write Sascha and I love how bloodstone and aquamarine complement each other – a true balance of yin and yang :o) xxx
Love this response to the prompt! Most especially these words
“Green Jasper threaded with red
“sun stone” richly hued”
You’ve responded to the complexity of these two gemstones and matched them with the complexity of who you are….beautifully done. I love my birthstone, the emerald….but in reality, there is not a real complexity to the stone…just green. And I do believe I’m more complex than that! Your post here reveals the complexity of who you are and the mystery too…the discovery yet to come.
Thank you so much, Lilian. This was a wonderful exercise and always appreciated when I learn something more from it. 🙂
You never have to be saddled with anything from your birth! Don’t like it, change it. I’m a ruby girl, born in June. 😉
Spoken like a true horse woman, Ruby. Your new nom de plume! Ruby Wright. heh
Not fond of the name, but thanks for the suggestion. BTW, I think aquamarines are beautiful. Subtle (like your writing sometimes) but not everything needs to be bold to be beautiful. It’s a very peaceful stone.
I gave it a lot of thought last night, especially after viewing more pics and I have to admit that maybe my lack of affinity over the years can be altered. It always just seemed to pale in comparison to every other stone. lol But even in that there can be good qualities.
Nice sound throughout. I liked this line: “This is me, beckoning complexity.”
Thanks, Frank! 🙂
I love the last two lines and this:
“Green Jasper threaded with red”
“This is me beckoning complexity.”- great line! Nice work!
I’m learning so much from this prompt! Love your words.
