Written for November Notes, Day 18, Chariot by Jacob Lee.
Choices
If I wrote a song for you
I’d drop the clichés
No bluer than blue eyes
No surging sea
My love would not go on for eternity
I’d write of support and care
Eyes sparkling with a dare
The arguments, the tears
Sticking with each other through the years
The laughing at stupid, arrow of cupid
How your humor helped me
Take life a little less seriously
You’ve hurt, I’ve hurt
My insides a desert
It’s a choice. To possess hurt, or let it go.
Off it goes. I draw you close.
