Dreams Vs. Reality

Floating on an airstream, she felt invincible until the phrase, “May I be candid?” brought her crashing back to earth with the reality that her slam poetry didn’t seduce all the masses.

  1. Haha, when someone says that or the equivalent, it means get ready for the worst. Possibly I should know what slam poetry is, oh well. So many audiences, and everyone has their own opinion. I say float on that airstream, Sascha, and admire the psychedelic view you created yourself. 👍 Accompaniment–Cream, Sunshine of Your Love. 😄

    • Thanks, Steve. Now I’ll have that song stuck in my head. 🙂
No, I seriously appreciate the comment. Oddly, most people think the “she” is me and this isn’t the case…not this time anyway, although I have had my bubble burst in the distant past regarding writing. I think I’ve grown skin….not thick, but still something. 🙂

      • Oh I know another song that’s great for that mmmph mmmph Stop it wood ducks I want to tell Sascha. 😜

It’s the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune. I am a pin cushion.

For certain reasons to do with my own writing I do appreciate that it isn’t you. 😃 I think facets of characters come from all over the place, but I suspect that even when it’s someone you know or knew, you need to have a sort of empathic understanding of them. I know there are types of people I could never write fiction about.
