First off, I have so many new followers lately and I’ve been remiss in visiting your blogs so I’ll try to catch up. But I want to thank you for following! Thank you!
I wrote up a blog post about this week, which has sincerely been the week of CRAZY, but I felt like it was a downer and I’ve pasted it in Word and may revisit it at some point.
I never intended this blog to be about raising social consciousness or commenting on ideologies that have somehow survived despite science and an awareness of being kind. But this week has made me want to write about what it means to be smart and kind but to do that I would have to visit ignorance and hate and right now it makes me feel like my inside has an echo. I will say one thing: if you worship cold steel and feel it’s a necessity rather than evaluate its capacity to devalue 17 lives and the many more associated with those 17, you might want to rethink those values. Especially when true courage was demonstrated this week. People who valued the sanctity of human lives, the lives of others, and put themselves in harm’s way. There were many heroes this week. The only shame is they are no longer alive to thank.
Anyone a fan of Ron White and “You Can’t Fix Stupid?” Well, evidently there has been research done that a stupid person will argue with you because they “know” they’re right even when they’re wrong. They don’t understand that they’re not right. They won’t ever understand that they’re not right. You will never be able to “talk” to them and have them be open-minded. They don’t have the capacity. The only thing that ends up happening is you get frustrated and lose a lot of precious minutes that you’ll never get back. Save your breath.
If you’re still here after all of that when I said this wasn’t going to be a downer, thanks. I’ll try to be a barrel of laughs now.
It’s snowed here today. That’s not odd. It’s February after all when we usually get our onslaught of snow. However, it was 70°F on Thursday, around 60 something yesterday and is going to be around 70 again on Tuesday. Roller Coaster Weather! Just put on everything in your wardrobe when you go out in the morning and remove and then reapply as necessary because you can’t anticipate what’s going to happen.
I read an interesting bit…and this is for all of you would-be writers. The blog post, which unfortunately I forgot to bookmark (my bad….do people still say that?), said that if you want to be a writer you have to build a following. Forget writing well. Just build a following. While part of me wanted to “Pfft” and give a huge raspberry, I think there is some evidence that this is true. Were you aware that Fifty Shades of Grey was written as part of Twilight fandom and shared on fanfiction? It got a huge following and the rest, as they say is history. If you write it, they will come? 😳
I shared some about my week earlier here. The last bit is about the frustration of trying to get Pearl Jam tickets. General sale doesn’t happen for another 4 or 5 days, but it looks like most of the tickets are gone and yours truly, who still has not gone to a Pearl Jam concert, is still not going to a Pearl Jam concert, unless a miracle occurs. (Yo, Eddie Vedder are you reading my blog?) Can you imagine that the tickets for all of the shows are probably mostly sold out even before they go on sale to the general public? Amazing. Well, they’re an amazing group. And, I’ll leave you with one of their songs. I should have given you one of their socially inspirational songs, but I’m giving you the one that watchmojo.com listed as their best. Do you agree? heh.
From 1992, when we all were kids.
It’s rumored that the upbeat me will be back next week. See ya then. Thanks for sticking around and I hope you all have a fabulous week. Stay healthy and kind.

Hope Eddie is reading and sends you a ticket! Who can judge a best song really? All I know is ‘Last Kiss’ always makes me shed a tear.
Eddie, oh, Eddie. Are you reading? Yeah. hehe. Thanks.
I go through so many favorites. Right after I posted Pandora played “Just Breathe” which is always so thoughtful and loving. I don’t think even I have a favorite! Hope you’re well! 🙂
Would love to see Pearl Jam too. No voice like Eddy Vedders, it’s very distinct. Congrats on the new followers!
And their songs have good lyrics and meaning.
And, yes, Eddie. hehe.
Yes I agree 🙂
Still one of my favorite performances of Black ever. Which shows were you trying for? I do happen to have spare 10c tickets for Seattle 2 and Fenway 2 since both my ticket buddy and I somehow lucked out in the lotto.
Congrats on that! I am sure it’s going to be an amazing concert!
