Dreamed Memory
They bought a beach cottage, but it was just one more thing they perceived differently. He wanted to make money. She wanted to make memories.
He won. Except, he didn’t because the cottage barely scraped by. The constant sea-laden winds meant constant repairs. Renters treated themselves to knickknacks, pillows, paintings and disrespected the property because, “hey, the owner’s got money.”
Good memories weren’t being made, not anymore. Many times, she wished they’d never bought “their dream cottage” because now visits were rare. “It might rent that week.”
And the good memories, well now, she’s certain they were with someone else.

Sascha Darlington
What a sad tale, Sascha. All dreams have two edges, though. Thanks for joining in this week.
Thank you so much, Sue! 🙂
Not the dream she wanted it to be, how sad, but also how real. Well written Sascha.
