Emerging
How many paths have I walked to find you?
In dreams, I follow your trail only to have you slip away moments before I reach you.
This is fate. Yours, mine, ours.
In my last dream, I walked until there was only darkness. After this, I promised myself I’d follow no more.
Along this seaside trails with its slippery rocks, I think nothing of you. I smell the salt air, coalesce with the sea breeze, laugh with the gull’s mockery.
And when my barefoot joins with the suntanned sand, you turn, smile as if you’ve been expecting me.

Sascha Darlington
such deep longing Sacha, this had me reading it twice over and still feeling the softness of your words
Thanks. I try to let the inner poet surface every once in a while and it’s nice that you commented on it.
Thanks, Gina! 🙂
you are welcome Sascha! I enjoyed your poetry and yes it’s awesome to see the poet emerge some days, some feelings can only be expressed in that way.
For me, it’s a process of just letting that writer emerge, which may sound weird.
i understand that in a way, we have different personas, even in our writing mode. it’s wonderful to see that side of you.
Thank you! 🙂
A dreamy, warm tale Sascha. If only….!
Lovely! I found this through the blogger, Sue Vincent, and love it!
