I Need Your Funny

Yes, the title is right. I need your funny because I think I’ve lost mine. Yes, it sounds weird, but I seem to have misplaced my laughter.

Give me:

Movies that make you laugh

TV shows that make you laugh

Books that make you laugh

Podcasts that make you laugh

Youtube videos that make you laugh

I need to find my laughter, and I need your help. This isn’t a gimmick but a small cry…for laughter! I’ve never been without my laughter for so long.

And, I promise to report back to you if you’ve helped me.

Many thanks!

From, Sadsack Sascha

  1. Monty Python & the Holy Grail always makes me laugh, and I’ve watched it at least 10 times… TV shows? Doc House makes me laugh a lot, and I really like “Last man on earth”! Ohhhh And “Drunk history”, now if you don’t get the giggles with that, I can’t do anything for you πŸ˜› LOL I watch the American version, with Derek Waters… Let me know if anything helps πŸ˜›

  2. PG Wodehouse – Bertie Wooster and Jeeves never fail to make me laugh especially Thank you Jeeves. And if you would like to watch something Yes Minister would be my recommendation of course if you like that kind of stuff. Hope you feel better soon πŸ™‚

  3. “Ruthless People” with Bett Midler and Danny DeVito is very funny. “While You Were Sleeping” (Sandra Bullock) always makes me happy. And “the Birdcage” with Robin Williams is laugh out loud funny. TV shows? Modern Family and American Housewife and, of course, Big Bang Theory though not sure how you’d watch those now. And Friends, an oldie, but goody.

  4. I’m not a comedy person but the one movie that never fails to bring a smile to my face and laughter from my lips is JUMPING JACK FLASH with Whoopie Goldberg. The scene where she is trying to decipher Mick Jagger’s I CAN’T GET NO SATISFACTION breaks me up every time.
    Thinking of you.

  5. People make me laugh.

    My goddaughter:

We always joke about running away and making a better life. One day, I drove by the three-walled shack.

I said, “Maybe Santa Claus will give you that for Christmas and we can live there and make a better life.”

She said, ” Santa, you suck at Christmas.”

    Troy (Pictured):

My roommate has three dogs. She breeds. I usually bring one with me to the coffee shop where I hang out to write. A woman who works there always comes over to see the dogs. I let her give them treats. She made Troy sit for his treat.

I gave her another and said, “High five.” She put her hand up as if to give me a high five. “No, him. You don’t have to high five me.”

She gave him the treat and asked who taught him that. I explained that no one taught him. His mom learned in a training class and he and his sister saw that she got treats for it and emulated her. She thought that was really cool.

Later, she walked by and I said to her, “I just realized something. ”

    “What’s that?”

“You were ready to give me a high five for a treat and I didn’t even have to train you.”

“Yeah, I was hoping you wouldn’t notice that.”

I could do this all day. I could even make up some. I can’t write without humor. I could also recommend Mitch Hedberg, Stephen Lynch, Dave Chappelle (His Sesame Street joke is ridiculous), George Carlin…

  6. Movies: Despicable Me 2 (I didn’t see you there………… or there……) and a scene from Six Days and Seven Nights where Anne Heche and Harrison Ford are not where they thought he was, and he goes into the bushes for a swearing and strangling session. That cracks me up every time.
TV Shows, toughie as we don’t have a TV but I loved Morecombe and Wise.
A Book that made me laugh was Precious Time by Erica James. It wasn’t a funny book, but had a few moments that made me smile and I wish I still had it.
Podcasts I can’t comment on and Youtube videos are some of the things Hubby finds about self defence (running away), The Dog Police (doggy gets to bite the bad guy) and one chap who is demonstrating some form of electronics and it’s a wonder he doesn’t blow himself or the house up.

    How about
“Smile and the world smiles with you, Fart and you’re on your own?” Does that help?
I hope I made your lips twitch a bit, even if they didn’t turn upwards.

Seriously I laughed so hard and long over this, my grand daughter taped me. Her best friend said, I so love your gramma. It struck me as hilarious. Hope it does the same for you! πŸ™‚ I’ll see if I can find others that had me rolling on the floor and I’ll post them immediately

  8. You absolutely MUst watch “Better Late Than Never”, TV series that has ran 2 seasons (crossing fingers for a 3rd) and I guarantee you will find laughter. I just can’t say it enough! It features William Shatner, Henry Winkler, Terry Bradshaw, George Foreman and “Jeff”. Looking forward to hearing from you for sure πŸ™‚

  9. one book I read recently that had me laughing and really tickled was The Little Book Store of Big Stone Gap – Wendy Welch, her humour was understated and so original, people watching and describing at its best. Oh I love stand up comedy the best, Gabriel Iglesias is one I go to when I need to empty my brain.
