I don’t know about you, but I feel musical affiliations. I’ve never been big on the doo wop of the 50’s, although I loved the sultry stylings of Julie London, Frank Sinatra at his best, and the classic musicals of that decade like West Side Story. In the 60’s, however, so much great music came to life, in my opinion. Not the least of which was the music by the British great, Dusty Springfield. Decades later, Shelby Lynne tributed an album to Dusty and took this song, Anyone Who Had A Heart, to a new place. You feel her emotion. Maybe she doesn’t have the pipes of the renowned Dusty, but Shelby makes you feel the song.
