Day 5 30-Day Song Challenge

Bruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuce!

This is a song depicting the poor treatment of Vietnam veterans as well as the innocent people affected by war, but it frequently comes across as a very pro-USA song, which I know first hand after a fourth of July spent at Camp LeJeune in Jacksonville, NC, where this was played as a patriotic anthem.

Regardless, this is Bruce Springsteen at his best and needs to be played loud with a pounding bass.

Yes, there are other songs that should be played loudly. Another came to mind, but it’s also one I like to dance to so it’s for day #6. Bruuuuuuuuuuuuuce!

  1. I always thought of this as a patriotic anthem as a kid. Recently, I heard it somewhere. Something caught my attention, and I had to read the lyrics. Like you said, it’s the opposite of what I thought it was.

It’s amazing how we can hear song without ever actually hearing them.
