Snow White
It was a bad winter. Cold, dark. It seemed like people didn’t care anymore. They’d throw their trash into the streets.
It’s that winter Beth was pregnant. I was in awe. My beautiful girl was having our baby. It was like a gift, you know, something from heaven.
I worked two jobs and was on my way to the second when the call came that she had gone into labor.
Something went wrong. Between the trash and the piled snow, the ambulance didn’t make it in time.
The next time I saw my girl she was white as snow.

Sad tale, Sascha
Thank you for reading, Neil!
Oh no! 🙁
This was a tragic take!
Thank you for reading!
My pleasure! 🙂
🙂
A sad but well-written story, Sasha. Unfortunately, this type of tragedy happens in real life. —- Suzanne
Yes, it does. Thanks so much, Suzanne! 🙂
Dear Sascha,
Such a heat-breaking story.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Thank you, Rochelle! 🙂
That is so sad. The build-up with the excitement and happiness, the hard work and anticipation makes the reader feel even more horrified at the tragic ending.
Thank you! 🙂
My heart goes to mother and grandmother of the child that was not to be 🙁
Thank you, Jade.
Oh, such a sad take on the photo prompt, Sascha.

Thank you for reading, Susan.
Unbelievably sad tale, yet I’m sure it has happened more than a few times 🙁
Yes, I think you’re right. I know that for a first world nation, the US now has some horrible statistics as far as infant/mother mortality. Thanks for reading, Iain!
You decided not to A to Z this year?
No A to Z this year, not enough time to do it proper justice while trying to write my next novel and a few other things going on at home! Missing it though, hopefully in a position to do it again next year 🙂
You have more discipline and/or willpower than me. More power to you. Good luck with everything!
A sad story Sascha
Thanks for reading, Di! 🙂
