Snow White

It was a bad winter. Cold, dark. It seemed like people didn’t care anymore. They’d throw their trash into the streets.

It’s that winter Beth was pregnant. I was in awe. My beautiful girl was having our baby. It was like a gift, you know, something from heaven.

I worked two jobs and was on my way to the second when the call came that she had gone into labor.

Something went wrong. Between the trash and the piled snow, the ambulance didn’t make it in time.

The next time I saw my girl she was white as snow.
