SASCHA DARLINGTON’S REVIEW

First off, the blurb is wrong and could have been written better. Does it matter? I don’t know. Tara is the one who devises the marriage of convenience, not Rhett. Would that detail matter to you? (shrug). Anyway…

To Tame a Wild Cowboy is the third novel in the Cupid, Texas series by Lori Wilde that I’ve read (there are a total of 7 plus a novella). Like the others, To Tame a Wild Cowboy can be read as a standalone and is an involving, completely engrossing cowboy romance.

While I liked the romance between charming Rhett and pragmatic Tara, I did find myself annoyed with Tara’s sometimes stick-in-the-mud behavior. I wanted her to lighten up a bit, enjoy life (which she finally did when she became tipsy), but that would probably be the only issue I have with this warm-hearted and sometimes heart-wrenching novel.

At about the three-quarter mark, action picks up with events that while not totally unexpected, feel satisfying. Like Wilde’s other novels, the multiple layers of story add to the total enjoyment as does the family involvement (just gotta love the big family element), and the slight touch of magic.
