Evidently, October is the time when the baby squirrels visit me for peanuts. Like last year, I had a new visitor this week.
Advice to Baby Squirrel
Baby squirrel chittering at me
peanut between paws
silent scream when I move.
She hurtles herself away
panicked twirling escape.
Many creatures threaten, baby squirrel
I am not one, but you’re wise
to be frightened. Show it sooner.
