Spirit, Move Me!
Scrooging for weeks,
--months truthfully--
caught in curmudgeon catacombs
focused on festering rather than festiving,
the horror of the world ringing in my heart.
Yesterday, frustrated, sad, I said: “No more.
Spirit, fill me brain to toe!”
Spirit said: “Why certainly. Ho, ho, ho!”

‘scrooging’ I love that. Wonderful!
Thank you, Anne.
Quite a clever quadrille. Like the lightheartedness in this piece.
Thank you. Definitely trying to Scrooge less. 🙂

Thank you so much! 🙂
This is so familiar, Sascha! I love the alliterative ‘curmudgeon catacombs’ and ‘festering rather than festiving’. I still have a way to go before I feel the ho, ho, ho!
Thank you, Kim. I’m working on the “ho, ho, ho.” 🙂
I love the turn of spirit in this. Great ending.
Thank you so much! 🙂
Such lovely alliteration!
Thank you so much! 🙂
Really liked “Scrooging for weeks” and “curmudgeon catacombs”
Thank you so much! 🙂
“Caught in curmudgeon catacombs” Well if that doesn’t describe this 24/7 cycle of news we’ve been caught up in, I don’t know what does! Whatever political affiliation you have, it is downright tiring and exhausting to be assailed by news of almost any kind right now…globally even! So oh yes…..we definitely need a spirit to fill us with ho ho ho …. and the serenity of cinnamon and evergreen candles burning with Christmas tree lights in our living rooms with tv OFF! 🙂
This year, maybe even the past 2 have been too much. I have an evergreen candle calling my name. Thank you, Lillian! 🙂
