Music Monday: In Dulci Jubilo by Mediaeval Baebes

It’s very easy to choose typical beloved Christmas songs for Music Monday but a little harder to find ones that I love that you may never have heard. As always, I am up for the challenge.

I first became aware of the British group Mediaeval Baebes in the 2002 when they appeared on one of our local National Public Radio (NPR) shows hosted by Kojo Nnamdi to celebrate the Maryland Renaissance Festival. You can actually hear that recording here (I hope). The following year their holiday album Mistletoe & Wine came out. What beautiful and unusual tunes! I learned several new songs and this one, In Dulci Jubilo, which I’d often heard by John Rutter and the Cambridge Singers performed as choral music.

And so, the last rare find for the Christmas season. Enjoy!
