Air Fryer – A Happy Kitchen Gadget

I was in the kitchen cooking from first memories. No, not the kinds of foods that would feed a family but the easy things. I cut my baking chops on the easy-bake oven toy. In the house where I grew up, foods were typically baked from scratch utilizing the oven or the stove. Gadgets just weren’t around to the degree they are today.

Probably because of that, I’ve not brought a lot of gadgets into my cooking life. I still haven’t used an InstantPot and I’ve given away my rice cooker (stove is just as easy for me) and my slow cooker to someone who needed them.

However, for Christmas I received a kitchen game changer: a GoWise Air Fryer.

With a modicum of oil, I can have roasted veggies in half the time. So far I’ve roasted French and regular green beans, three different types of potatoes, asparagus, Brussel sprouts, tofu, and the piΓ¨ce de rΓ©sistance–broccoli. Yes, broccoli.

I’ve always been a broccoli fan. I am that person who will eat raw broccoli with some Italian dressing for lunch and be a completely happy camper. But, roasted broccoli? Oh la la!

Roasting and air fying broccoli not only crisps this nutrient little veg, it sweetens it. In the past, I’ve literally removed a pan of roasted broccoli from the oven and started nibbling, struggling to leave some for the actual meal. With the air fryer, the amount of oil is drastically reduced as is the time, and the results are even better.

Alas, I’ve fallen in love with a kitchen gadget. The GoWise Air Fryer has made me an even happier camper.

Do you have an air fryer? What’s your favorite thing to cook in it?

And a little roasted broccoli fiction from last year anyone?

  1. My air fryer revolutionized my life completely. I’ve not used my oven or grill nearly two years now.πŸ₯˜πŸ₯˜πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹

Mine uses no oil at all. Just pop my meal in there for less time, and voila!!!🌠🌠🌠🌠

This gadget is the 8th wonder of the world. β™¨οΈπŸŒžπŸŒžπŸŒž
    Thanks for sharing.

  2. The only meals I don’t cook in my air fryer are those that need water or oil.

I have prepared chips, chicken, beef, fish, vegetables, fish fingers, chicken nuggets, roasted plantains, yams and potatoes in my fryer. I roast peanuts in there.

One thing that excites me most is the short time it takes to cook food items which would have required at least 40 minutes to an hour in the oven.

Another thing is that it requires no oil at all. In fact, it drains out oil from foods which is perfect for my healthy lifestyle. πŸ‘ŒπŸΏπŸ‘ŒπŸΏπŸ‘ŒπŸΏ

Basically, you can cook any foods you would normally use the oven or grill for. The only temperature setting I use is 180.
You will need to experiment with the timing to finally get the perfect cooking time for various meals. E.g. frozen chips I cook for 8-10 minutes.

I hope this helps. Do enjoy your experience with this all important appliance.
