I took a couple of days off from almost everything. I watched a couple of movies. One made me laugh and I realized that it had been a very long time since I had laughed at something silly and that maybe it was time to get perspective again and laugh. A lot. Like I used to. This is all heads up for the fact that there might be some forced jokes in some stories, some canned laughter, maybe a laugh track, and who knows what else in the immediate future of this blog. 😉
However, today I bring you Tuesday Tune and The Lovin’ Spoonful‘s Summer in the City which is just so appropriate for a 90+°F day in the DMV. I know lots of folks have been suffering through some hots ones, hotter than you’ve ever experienced, and I hope you all are doing well. Here in the DMV 90+°F sometimes just means July. We’re mostly used to it. Of course, DC is known to have a huge amount of hot air year round.
Cue canned laugh:
Hot town, summer in the city
Back of my neck getting dirty and gritty
Been down, isn’t it a pity?
Writer(s): John Sebastian, Mark Sebastian, Steve Boone
Like that art and Loving S of course. Something is happening and I have a certain feline curiosity 😸, All the Best Steve
Great to see your name pop up again! How are you doing?
I’m well thanks, but Sydney is in lockdown, and I’m a little concerned about the mental state of the wood ducks. One of them told me he was chatting with a penguin the other day. I think he might be losing touch with reality. 😸
I don’t know. I would have a good chat with a penguin if one were available. But then my being in touch with reality has always been questionable.
I don’t think any fiction writer can be totally in touch with reality. Your mind has to go places. To an extent. Penguins are fine. 🐧🐧🐧
