I didn’t realize that dVerse was back so I missed Monday’s prompt but still decided to write it. (Time to get back into writing poetry!) For this quadrille (a poem of 44 words), we were asked to use the word “juke.”

Bad Dream, A quadrille
Tabletop jukebox Patsy Cline croons “Crazy” ice cream coats my upper lip I’m 11 during the best/worst summer D in a good mood temporarily his temper like a canker erupts sudden, an eye-blink I tiptoe around eggshells perfecting avoidance Daddy dies, D disappears again
