Blurb: This interactive fiction allows you to decide which characters you wish to know more about and whose journey you want to cease following. A group of friends met up for a house party, but not all got along either with each other or the building itself. Some were irritated by those they had a turbulent past with, whilst others were obsessed with the supposedly supernatural presences in the property, and there may have even been individuals with darker motives for the night. Will you be content with the secrets you unearth or will the lingering mysteries draw you back to follow a different path?
Brochette 666 by Henry Bassett is an interactive fiction is set in a single residential building in the modern day. It is written in third person, past tense, with multiple POVs. A group of friends have gathered for a social evening of drinks, relaxing, and spitefulness. Will you avoid the drama and investigate the architectural engravings, or perhaps picking sides of a love triangle is more your cup of tea? Neither take your fancy, then maybe discovering the plans of the creepy character is for you? Which one is creepy, you ask, that’s for you to decide.
Brochette 666 is about a group of friends who spend an evening together. Depending on which character you follow the story reveals a love triangle, black magic, friendship and death.
I loved the idea of being able to choose and follow a particular character throughout the book. I followed several different characters and found Brochette 666 to have a good storyline. My only disappointment was that the book isn’t long enough to really get into the characters and plot.
I give Brochette 666 3 stars.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
