Ah, well. Maybe not the best writing to start off the New Year but at least it’s writing? 🤷♂️ 🙄
Thanks as always to Rochelle for Friday Fictioneers.

All Work and Play
Trudy from reception made reservations for a work outing at Wine and Art. “It will be a team-building exercise,” she told Rick in her best cheerleader voice. Rah!
Underlying Trudy-thought: Lyle will be nice to me in a social setting.
Lyle wasn’t. He believed Trudy carried a stiletto near her stilettoes—ca-ray-zeee, he said.
“Trade places with me,” he said before snatching my sad painting from its easel.
Trudy didn’t need stilettoes; her wine-glazed eyes shot daggers. All aimed directly at me.
Me and Lyle? As if, I thought before winking at Taylor.

Team building, indeed!
😀 Thanks so much, Neil!
Dear Sascha,
Sounds like a bit of a disjointed “team.” 😉
Shalom,
Rochelle
I think you’re right. I wonder what shape the company’s in. Ha! Thanks, Rochelle! 🙂
Nicely played
Thanks, Paul! 🙂
Ah what a den of intrigue the workplace can be. I used to love those “team-building excursions” where everyone clumps up into their little cliques and eats free food.
The cookies! What the work world has been missing for the past two years! Thanks, Lisa!
You’re very welcome!
Ah la la… don’t they know office romances are never a good idea?
Fun one!
Thanks, Dale! 🙂
