Music Monday: Wasting Time by Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats

Anyone who thinks good music isn’t being made anymore just isn’t listening. You can quote me on that. 😉

This past summer I heard “Wasting Time” by Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats playing on the radio and my ears perked up. First that voice and then the music. Now Nathaniel Rateliff has been around awhile but he was definitely new to me. Every subsequent song I’ve heard has just been a keeper.

Have you heard of him? What do you think of the song?

Remember all the hours I spent in constant reflection

Well it gets you down but, it don’t make it right

I made it my personal intervention

What a waste of time, time, time, time, time

Eh eh eh eh ey, eh eh eh eh ey, eh eh eh eh ey

Songwriters: Nathaniel David Rateliff

I apologize in advance if the video isn’t/stops working. Folks seem to be shutting down videos that are playing outside of YouTube. If it isn’t working, I do hope you follow the link (but come back!) to listen to this song.

Enjoy!

  1. Nate has a great voice. I don’t think I’ve heard anything of his that I didn’t like. There’s a lovely, joyful feel to this video, too. They put me in mind of The Band, which is no bad thing!

    1. Have you heard their song S.O.B.? For just an instant, I had a flashback to David Clayton-Thomas’ voice. In every video of theirs I’ve watched so far, they just seem like they love what they’re doing. That’s the way to do it. 🙂
