Music Monday: Sirens by Pearl Jam

Note: I was wondering why no one liked this post, thinking maybe everyone had gotten tired of my Pearl Jam devotion. πŸ˜‰ Of course, it really does help if you actually publish the post, doesn’t it? πŸ™ƒ

Soon I will probably have put every single Pearl Jam song I know up for Music Monday. πŸ™‚ I guess there are worse things.

Sirens was released in 2013 and is off their Lightning Bolt album. The lyrics are strong and Eddie Vedder’s voice is emotional, especially when he goes falsetto and makes the listener hear the power of the song. When I first heard it, I didn’t know what to make of it but it quickly grew on me.

It’s a fragile thing, this life we lead

If I think too much, I can’t get over

When by the grace, by which we live

Our lives with death over our shoulders

Want you to know, that should I go

I always loved you, held you high above too

I studied your face, the fear goes away

Songwriters: Eddie Jerome Vedder / Michael David Mccready

I apologize in advance because I know that this video is going to disappear and just have a link back to YouTube, which I hope you’ll use so you can tell me your impression of the song.

What do you think?
