Many thanks to Bjorn at dVerse for providing the prompt of “eye” for this week’s quadrille.
And, why yes, I did go (more than) a little heavy on alliteration. 🤪
Cold Front
Willows whisper “wind, wind” as altocumulus lap the sky, grimly grey crows caw, robins refrain eyes exploring below for food and above for hawks: danger, danger. Neighbor squirrel, white tufts fluff behind each ear, hip-hops “peanuts, my pal?” thoughts, words, worlds shared between us.

Oh, love this.
Thank you so much, Bridgette! 🙂
Love this AND your pic. Background is much better, too. Thanks.
Thank YOU, Maggie! 🙂
PS. From the title, I thought it was going to be about Russia. Pleased that it wasn’t.
This is great, Sascha and cute photo too.
Thank you so much. It’s hard to take a bad picture of a squirrel. 🙂
The silent bond, the knowing.
This is so lovely, Sascha… a real slice of nature in just 44 words!

Oh I love that beginning… it really sets the scene
I love that beginning setting the scene
The alliteration is cool, and I’m also drawn to the repetition of the words by the willows and about the hawks.
