Music Monday: Mine Forever by Lord Huron

My first thought when I heard “Mine Forever” by Lord Huron was of Chris Isaak singing something like “I Got It Bad” (rather than Wicked Game although his voice is so similar (have I done Wicked Game yet on Music Monday? What a song! sigh). “Mine Forever” feels like nostalgia and freshness. Some of the background vocals and riffs make me think of ’60s music, especially with the guitar plucking out low single notes.

Mine Forever” sounds like summer and warm weather and I’m ready.

If you’re ever gonna leave this place

Don’t wait, it’s time to go

If you really wanna stay, I’ll go alone

If you tell me where to meet

Then I’ll wait ’til I turn to bones

Oh, we really should’ve left here long ago

Songwriters: Ben Schneider

Tell me what you think.
