For this week’s dVerse Quadrille, Mish is asking us to write about “static”.

Static Noise
Before you
TV networks would signoff
with the National Anthem
then static, black/white noise
much like your voice complaining
incessantly of all you’re entitled to
don’t have, should have,
things, things, things
your TV network never blacks out
in wee hours whines never wind-down.

Wonderful play on static and the never ending tv
Thank you so much, Paul! 🙂
Ah! The tv static before the days of 24×7 telecast. Terrific word play.
Many thanks. 🙂
It’s difficult to listen to the whines of entitlement especially when so many are truly struggling. We could use an “off” button sometimes. I like the analogies you’ve made here.
Many thanks, Mish. 🙂
