Have a moment for an absolutely beautiful, evocative song? Hopefully so. Today we’re listening to Northern Wind by City and Colour, who is a Canadian singer-songwriter named Dallas (city) Green (colo(u)r.
Initially, Northern Wind sounds like a love song, the writer conveying all that the other person inspires. And, then as we come near the end, we understand that this song is more remorseful, the writer has stories to tell—the healing kind. If we listen to most of the song, it does sound like a love song. So, I’m just going to pretend that it is. I have a great imagination (sometimes).
You’re the lullaby
Writer(s): Dallas Green
That’s singing me to sleep
You are the other half
You’re like a missing piece
Beautiful song! Well shared with video! 👌
Thank you, Priti, for dropping by! 🙂
It’s my pleasure 😊 do read my blog also.😃
The lyrics are amazing but I really found that “strum” after each stanza harsh and distracting. I wish he’d kept it soft. I know, I know…if you can’t say something nice… But it’s beautiful otherwise.
Hmm. I can’t say I noticed the strum until you pointed it out. I wonder if any “harshness” wasn’t intentional?
