It has been awhile since we’ve done a Music Monday! Will today’s selection be someone new for you?
I have described my love for the Pandora music streaming service (for which I receive no monetary gain 😉 ), not to be confused with Pandora jewelry, although I suspect a charm bracelet might produce a touch of music–but no, not the same. From my scant use of Spotify, it didn’t seem to offer up new music with the ease of Pandora. Unfortunately Pandora is available only in the US. I did find another service, Deezer, that seems very similar to Pandora and is available in over 180 countries. What makes Pandora and Deezer both so great is that you can make your own Taylor Swift or Beyoncé or Metallica station (and/or almost anyone else), “like” songs that play, which then allows similar songs and artists to be added. What this has ultimately done for me is introduce me to new artists such as today’s featured brother and sister duo, Angus and Julia Stone (I keep typing Angus Young; I wonder why . . . heh), from Australia.
The lyrics may not lead to a great epiphany but the song on the whole does reach a higher plane . . . a big jet one?
She smelled of daisies
Songwriters: Angus Stone / Julia Stone
She smelled of daisies
She drive me crazy
She drive me crazy
While Big Jet Plane has appeared in a few American TV shows and movies, it has never made it into the US charts. Give it a listen and tell me what you think.
If I wasn’t depressed before, I am now. Could be the video.
Yeah, the song is kind of dreamy; the video is downright sad.
Ha, one of my fave pieces.
They have quickly grown on me. I love their sound! And this song can quickly become an earworm. lol
Yes indeed 🙂
