Written for November Notes, Day 1 (ha! catch up in full force), The Night We Met by Lord Huron.
We knew each other in daylight, but night was where we came alive. Hands and fingers and lips devouring, rhapsodizing some mystical force deep in the earth’s belly, deep in my belly. I hear the magic bass thumping through my heart, resuscitation, and long for one more night with you, but stark day pervades, like a killing virus, invades.

Pathetic to consider the energy you expend to injure
how all of those atoms redirected, momentum amassed
could be lightning fireflies portending delight.
In November of 2016, I evidently was much more, errrr….what is the word…prolific? Indefatigable? I participated in both NaNo and November Notes, hosted then by Sarah and Rosema. I didn’t realize until last week that they had brought back November Notes again this year. Continue reading
