Fully Past and Gone
It’s New Year’s Day, and the beach is crowded with revelers celebrating this gift of warm, windless sunshine and spring temperatures.
We mix Bahama mamas and watch the full moon rise over the ocean while sipping the rum concoction. With the silver glow of the rising full moon upon us, we make love, the waves our symphonic chorus.

That Boy of Summer
There are rules to summers in a beach town:
Grocery shop at odd hours.
Another day, another museum, another gallery. Enrichment.
I crave the novel waiting for me. With my book, I’d lounge on the beach in the sunshine with gentle waves lapping at talc-soft sand, sipping sangria.

I flop down in the sand. I’m not dressed for it. I had no intention of driving here, not when I got behind the wheel, but somehow, here is where I ended up.
