I Won’t Back Down — #WeekendCoffeeShare

It’s been weeks since we’ve shared coffee, or in my case, tea. There’s been lots and lots of PG Tips during the past week!

What do coffee drinkers drink when they get sick? I did consider a cup of coffee yesterday just for the pick-me-up factor, but stuck with tea. Tea is my comfort food of beverages.

Indie Versus Traditional Publishing

Even if you’re not a book blogger, but ARE a writer please read this post and/or if you’re not either and love to give your point-of-view join in.

So Friday evening I read Kim Knight’s post about book bloggers discriminating against Indie authors. You can read that post here. After just coming off of vacation where I tried to read two poorly written Indie novels, I admitted that I wasn’t surprised. A lot of us book bloggers are reading a lot and if you have to struggle through over-writing and description that consists of “he’s hot” and “she’s a hot mess,” you start to veer away from new (and even some established) Indie writers. Evidently for some book bloggers, it’s now a non-starter, which is the topic of Kim’s post.

How Can You Compare a Rose and a Daylily?


You can’t. One is a shrub and one is a bulb and the big thing they have in common is that they’re both flowers. It’s just apples and oranges all over again.

So, if you’re wondering how I can rate all books equally in my book reviews, the answer is: I don’t. Because I read a large variety of books, I rate each according to their genre. In case you wondered . . .
